Everyone has a story, even the journalist telling it. I am the Sports Director at KARE 11 in Minneapolis, MN, and I've taken the scenic route to get here.
After being out of television for more than a year, I finally got my first break as a photojournalist at KWCH 12 in Wichita, KS before being promoted to the Dodge City bureau Sports Multimedia Journalist. Since then, I've worked at WCPO 9 in Cincinnati, OH and ABC22/FOX45 In Dayton, OH. In 2019, I saw the unfortunate side of the business: lay-offs. My journey through life thus far has shown me that nothing ever comes easy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism with a B.A. in Radio-Television journalism. While there, I worked as a multimedia reporter and sports anchor for KOMU-TV, the local NBC affiliate.
I have a deep passion for sports and I always knew I wanted to be a part of the game. When I couldn't find a way to play organized sports without getting hurt, I decided to do the next best (safe) thing, cover them. I love connecting with people and telling their stories. The beautiful thing about being a journalist is getting to compassionately do both. I enjoy the challenge of bringing viewers the most compelling content night in and night out.
When I'm not out chasing stories, I enjoy going to church, working out, singing, relentlessly cheering on my beloved St. Louis sports teams (and Mizzou Tigers), spending time with family and friends and getting out in the community. I am a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and the National Association of Black Journalists.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about me and thank you for visiting my website!
